Injectable Filler Post-Care Tips

Please follow the post-treatment care instructions to see the best results.

Do:

  • Stay Upright: Remain upright for at least 4–6 hours after the procedure. This helps the filler settle in place without moving to unintended areas.
  • Gentle Massage (ONLY if recommended): If your provider advises you to massage the treated area, do so gently and as instructed. This helps to ensure even distribution of the filler.
  • Hydrate: Drink plenty of water after your treatment. Hydration is key for keeping your skin plump and helping the filler maintain its shape.
  • Use Sunscreen: Protect your treated areas from the sun. Apply SPF to prevent sun damage and avoid pigmentation changes.
  • Sleep on Your Back: For the first few nights after treatment, sleep on your back with your head elevated to minimize swelling.
  • Be Gentle with Skin Care: Use gentle skincare products in the treated area, and avoid aggressive facial treatments like exfoliating or microneedling for a few weeks.

Don’t

  • Don’t Apply Pressure: Avoid applying pressure to the treated areas for at least a few days. This includes avoiding heavy face washing, facial massages, or sleeping on your face.
  • Don’t Exercise Intense Workouts: Avoid intense physical activities or workouts for at least 24–48 hours to prevent increased blood flow, which could cause swelling or bruising.
  • Don’t Expose the Area to Heat: Avoid hot tubs, saunas, or intense heat exposure for 24–48 hours after treatment to reduce swelling and prevent complications.
  • Don’t Drink Alcohol: Avoid alcohol for 24 hours after filler injections, as it can increase the risk of bruising and swelling.
  • Don’t Take Blood Thinners: Avoid taking medications like aspirin, ibuprofen, or other blood thinners for 24–48 hours after your procedure to minimize the risk of bruising.
  • Don’t Expect Immediate Results: Filler results may take a few days to fully settle, so don’t worry if you notice some minor swelling or asymmetry initially.
